The MOD Percussion News is a newsletter from the MOD percussion studio.  My hope is that this newsletter will come out once a quarter!

A New School Year begins.  A new Drum Studio!  A few students have been able to come into the new Baltimore Studio and the results are amazing.  Things are shaping up with fresh paint, two complete drum outfits and student WebPages are up and running!  Soon to be added is a vibraphone for mallet studies.  Come on in for a test drive with a free mini-lesson today!

 

Drum Instructors Guild features Mike in their Footprint Newsletter!  The Drum Instructors Guild of Wisconsin has accepted Mike at their Co-Director in the Baltimore Area and featured him in the August Newsletter the “D.I.G. Summer Block Lessons were a success!  Some of Mike’s students took advantage of a once a month 2 hour lesson so that their percussion studies continued through the hectic summer months and went beyond their expectations.  With two hours, it allows us to cover topics that we can’t usually cover in a half hour lesson.  Topics included drum set “set-up”, drum tuning and stick selection among other topics.  Student walked away with a broader knowledge of what drumming is all about!

 

Have you seen the updated website?  Check out the new site at www.MikeOttoDrums.com.  The site now features the new Student Center with links to the “Drummer of the Month, Make-up lessons, Lesson Policy and online rudimental workouts.  Those that have seen it have been impressed with the upgrades and look forward to what’s next! 

I appreciate all feedback-positive and negative-and questions you might have about the website and the Drum Instructors Guild.  As with most things, this is a “Work in Progress”.
